Early Birds

The Early Birds Physical Education Program is a dynamic and energizing initiative aimed at fostering physical activity and promoting a healthy start to the school day for elementary students. This program is designed to engage students in a fun and invigorating way, setting a positive tone for their overall well-being and academics. Designed to help students wake up, stimulate their brains, or get extra energy out before the school day succeeds.

Grade Levels: 3rd, 4th, and 5th

Little Creative Minds

Arts and Crafts for K-2

This club promotes creativity through arts and crafts, engages children’s senses in open-ended play and supports the development of cognitive, social-emotional and multisensory skills. The activities offered will help improve fine motor skills and help develop executive functioning.

Math Olympiad

Math Olympiad is a club for 4th and 5th graders that focuses on competitive mathematics. Students participate in math competitions and problem-solving activities.

Grade Levels: 4th and 5th

Time: Thursdays, 3:10 - 4:10

Location: PEP Room and Cafeteria on Contest days

Approximate Start and End Dates: October - June 

(Nassau County Math Tournament in late May)

 


Scrabble Club

The Scrabble Club is a place for students to play the classic word game Scrabble. It's an opportunity for word enthusiasts to enhance their vocabulary and strategic thinking skills.

Grade Levels: Not specified

Time: Tuesdays, 3:10 - 4:10

Location: PEP Room

Approximate Start and End Dates: October - March (Districtwide Tournament in late March)

 


Chess Club

Description: Students learn the intellectually challenging game of chess and engage in friendly competition.

Grade Levels: K-5

Location: Cafeteria

Drama Club

Description: The Drama Club is a creative and extracurricular program at the elementary school designed to engage students in the world of theater and performance arts. It provides an opportunity for students to explore acting, storytelling, and stagecraft in a fun and supportive environment

Sunshine Yoga

The Sunshine Yoga program aims to introduce children to the practice of yoga, which combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to promote physical and mental well-being.

STEAM Club

Focus on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Grade levels:  3-5

Focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Time: Oct. to June, 7:15-8:00

 


HW Club Grades 4-5

Homework club for 4th-5th graders. Provides assistance with homework and academic support.

Time: Thursdays, started in November

Homework club for 2 and 3rd graders. Provides assistance with homework and academic support.

Provides math support for students.
